Hello, I’m Ride Holme…otherwise known as Jason Budd. I’m a mountain biker and all round outdoor enthusiast who has been riding the trails around the Holme Valley and the Peak District for over 20 years.
I’m passionate about biking in its many different forms, from Enduro racing and endurance challenges, through to bike packing adventures, bike parks and BMX.
I started riding bikes at the tender age of 5 and began entering BMX competitions just a few years later, winning lots of competitions throughout my childhood.
I have also climbed extensively in both the UK and abroad for many years and can occasionally be found on two feet instead of two wheels.
My qualifications include the British Cycling Level 2 Mountain Bike Leader award (licensed and insured by British Cycling) and an ITC Outdoor First Aid Certificate.
Away from mountain biking, I am a qualified IRATA Rope Access Level 3 supervisor and work as a clock engineer.
In 2018, I plotted and rode a route from the Dales Bike Centre in North Yorkshire to Cafe Adventure in Hope, Derbyshire to raise funds for the BMC Mend Our Mountains campaign. Loading my bike with camping kit and food, the solo off-road route covered 150 miles and took 3 days to complete, raising over £600 for the campaign. Named The Advocacy Way, you can read more about the challenge here.
